Food allergy occur after ingestion of food is a form of unwanted reactions of the body, in which the body’s ailments are triggered and/or shaped by immunological mechanisms that cause the disease. In food intolerance symptoms of illness may be similar, but due to the lack of participation of the immune system does not include their allergies.
Food allergy occurs by means of immune response: IgE-dependent or IgE-independent. The reaction of the substrate IgE-an independent is the reaction of type 2, 3 and 4. Type III allergies IgE-antibody production is independent in-class IgG. This is called. IgG food allergy-dependent.
The prevalence of food allergy IgE-dependent is about 6-8% in the Group of children and youth group, 3-4%, while in the Group of adults is 1-3%. In comparison, the IgG allergy-subsidiary affects approximately 45% of the population, often appearing in women than in men. It can occur in people of all ages, including children and infants. In addition, there is a risk of transmission of the IgG allergy-subsidiary by the mother (and both during pregnancy and breastfeeding).
Food allergy type and IgE-dependent on the
In a type of food allergy and IgE-dependent the human immune system treats some compounds as pathogens and defense mechanisms with a view to their elimination from the body. These compounds are called allergens, and may it be pollen, food, dust mites. Under the influence of IgE type antibodies produce allergens that stimulate the cells of the body to secrete histamine is a mediator of inflammatory processes of substance. At the time of infection inflammation is necessary to overcome the disease. In the case of allergy IgE-dependent arises from chronic inflammation, resulting in a condition of varying degrees of severity, for example. Allergic rhinitis, cough, watery and even anaphylactic shock, which is the immediate medical emergency.
Allergy symptoms to appear immediately after contact with the allergen (e.g. after ingestion of an allergenic food), which is relatively easy to identify harmful substances. Application of the Elimination Diet – excludes allergenic foods contributes to the symptoms of allergies for many years to come.
food intolerance
Type III IgG allergy-subsidiary
Food allergy type III IgG-dependent on results from damage to the intestines. Not fully digested nutrients penetrate through the wall of the intestine into the bloodstream and are recognized as foreign elements for the system.
A healthy intestine is lined with mucous membrane, which is a strong and stable security system. The intestinal works on the principle of the filter, passing into the bloodstream only up complex particles of food. On the imbalance and increase the permeability of the small intestine will affect:
drugs (especially antibiotics, anti-fungal medications and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs),
viral and bacterial infections,
improper nutrition,
smoking,
alcohol abuse,
physical and mental stress,
environmental pollution,
others.
As a result of this process, the blood may penetrate more undigested or incompletely digested nutrients that are recognized as foreign elements (antigens). A benign organism for food particle, which is not infective properties, shall be dealt with by the body’s immune system like a virus or bacteria. There is then a reaction of the immune system and antibodies are produced, the aim of which is to “eliminate” the intruder. New food antigens are delivered with each another portion of the meal. Immune complexes-food Antigen and antibody, the entire system and can settle in the organs and tissues. As a consequence, followed by the development and maintenance of inflammation in the body, which depending on your location you may manifest different symptoms.
This type of reaction can diagnose test Food Detective available in our shop.
Food intolerance
Food intolerance is associated with nieimmunologicznymi mechanisms, which include enzyme disorder in the small intestine, which may be either congenital (lactose intolerance diagnosed in children) or acquired (lactose intolerance, for example, acquired as a result of intestinal microflora disorders). For example, low activity of enzymes secreted in the small intestine that causes not digested sugars there are fermentation in the large intestine, the effect of which comes to flatulence, stomach aches, and even diarrhoea problems. Most often we meet intolerance:
lactose (milk sugar)
fructose (the sugar in fruits)
Histamine (amina biogenna appearing in many foods, including strawberries, nuts, yellow cheese)
In the case of the most common intolerances it is recommended to use Elimination Diet (e.g. avoiding milk and milk products in the case of lactose intolerance) or the administration of the enzymes that make the process of distribution of the product concerned.
